Personal Finance Tip: Home Based Business

Now that the global financial crisis is about to hit all of us on full swing, one should seriously consider additional and new ways of making good money. Home based business opportunities abound and it is only a matter of how to take advantage of it for people to become comfortable even during times of diversity. Vendo machines for instance, offer great opportunities for people to make good money at minima supervision. All that one need is a good system of tracking inventories, as well as a good location. After that, decent money will flow.

Bush in Iraq

This will be one of his last physical fitness activities at the expense of the US government. Beyond Obama’s inauguration, he will have to buy fat burner pills. Less than an hour ago, CNN reported that Pres. Bush, in one of his last acts as president of the United States, arrived in Iraq in an unscheduled trip. He is expected to thank the troops who is serving upon his direct orders and rally them behind Pres Obama. Let’s hope that whatever will happen in the future, will be good for Iraq. They were oppressed but peaceful during Saddam’s rule. Now, they have none of that.

Anti Piracy Devices

We’ve previously heard of pirates who were repulsed when an ocean vessel’s crew sounded a device that blows a deafening sound. At night, there is also some kind of a lighting mechanism that can temporarily blind people. All that a ship needs to do is surround itself with it and as soon as they notice some people trying to clamber aboard, all they have to do is blow the sound and switch on the blinding light.

Pirates Diet

In addition to the diet remedies for the Somalian Pirates, why not dump 200 grams of Phentermine into their food, as well. Seafarers who are under guard be these ocean menace can expertly do it and let’s see what will happen to these economic saboteurs! These pirates once caused a spike in oil prices when they captured a giant oil tanker and that will not be the last time. All governments must unite to free the seas from the menace of free trade before it becomes too late.

A Classy Wedding

The daughter of the Philippine president recently got married in a private ceremony that the public had no prior knowledge. I thought that engagement rings are supposed to become dead giveaways but apparently, she was so good in hiding it. Never was such an event of a high profile personality kept so secret without much effort. The lady after all, was so simple in her lifestyle that nobody really paid her so much attention. This perhaps, is one personality worth emulating for the next occupants of presidential residences, all over the world.

Appetite Suppresants and Mood Enhancers To Solve The Somalian Piracy Problem

The Somalian pirates attacking merchant vessels off the coast of Somalia should be prescribed some Ephedrasil hardcore . Available literature says those pills are good appetite suppressant and mood enhancing supplements and that should be good for those people. The supplements will hopefully take away the pirates’ appetite for more food than they can chew and their dark moods should somehow lighten. I suggest that ship crews lace the pirates’ food with the supplements and hopefully, they’d be set free. .. Haha!

Don't Pull Out of Iraq- yet!

The removal of Saddam, in my opinion, was a just cause. The liberation of the people from the tyranny of the elite few was long overdue and the helping hand provided by the US, was generally good. However, the country which is greatly lacking in leadership experience and national unity but high on religious barriers is not ready to self govern even at this point. The sudden departure of US troops will leave the country to the oppression of the fanatical few that is still relishing their newly found strength provided by the barrel of the gun. Leaving the country now is worse than having Saddam's family rule it. It will not only be an insult to the sacrifice of the troops who died in Iraq but mostaly, it will be US's worst contribution to world peace and stability. Please reconsider.

Online Classifieds Work!

At this point, I am going to cut down our newspaper expenses by posting our opening for jobs in marketing in online classified ads. More people should realize that online advertisements reach wider audiences compared to printed ones simply because, online ads run for longer periods. People has also developed a habit of hitting the search engines every time they look for something and a well indexed online classifieds system gets wide exposure.

This looks so gay.

In the spirit of adult fun during this election season, we are featuring a site that posted about the election related titles of some adult movies. Here it is . For some balance, here is a heterosexual type of adult movie spoofing the election. Click here .

Bond and Tuxedos

The upcoming James Bond film will surely lead to a surge in demand for fine tuxedos . Daniel Craig did a splendid job in the film and the Bond character remains largely intact though more crude and somewhat brutal than the kind portrayed by Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Through the years, all other Bonds were quite similar to the original except for Pierce Brosnan which started the character migration to the somewhat unrefined and more exciting 007.

Respecting the Captured States

U.S. troops or contractors who commit "major and premeditated murders" in Iraq while off-duty and outside U.S. facilities will fall under the jurisdiction of the government Iraq. - Draft Agreement signed between the governments of the United States and Iraq To the victor goes the spoils of war. However, it doesn't mean that the spoils can be handled in any manner that may suit the victors fantasy. In regard to this thing, human life should be treated with utmost dignity in order for reconstruction of destroyed states proceed with haste. Victors should make ethical treatment of all living things a paramount concern in order for them to rightfully expect the same kind of treatment for comrades that are captured by the enemies. Warfare should be fought along ethical boundaries for man is supposed to be above all lifeforms in this kingdom. Otherwise, there will exist no difference between man and beast.

Consumers Website

Further to my previous post, I just found out that there are now weight loss pill reviews that are accessible to most people. There is actually a website that reviews most brands of known diet pills and for everyone’s perusal. The review contains both positive and negative effects of every diet pill and the most recommended brands or types are actually mentioned. The internet has once again proven to be a good tool for communication.

A World of Overweight Inhabitants

Chinese Premiere Deng Xiapeng once said that in his country, no one has ever died from hunger but a great deal succumbs to diseases attributed to overeating . Weird but such is true in most places in this planet. A lot of people overeat and a bigger number are not aware of the importance of balanced diet. I don’t know if it is time to fully market diet pill but I am sure that doctors are aware of the latest developments along this area. For as long as the doctor says taking diet pills are fine, consumers can probably try it.

Insist on Genuine

Talking about fakes be careful when you buy your Harley parts or any motorcycle gadget. A fake will not only make the engine run below maximum performance but it will also endanger the lives and limbs of people who drives the motorcycles. We all know how severe motorcycle injuries can be. It is therefore imperative that owners of these two wheeled vehicles avoid going cheap in maintenance.

Watch out for Fakes

I remember the time when representatives of an American faucet company went to a trade show in China and found several local companies selling imitations of their latest models. They went to the organizers and complained and the offending companies were asked to pullout the fakes. These problems has long plagued China but the latest regarding toxic substances gives the country a bigger headache. Melamine is such a messy issue now and it seems determined to stay at the newspaper front pages for a long time.

Healthcare Amidst Crisis

I believe that apart from proper medication, the best acne treatment system is rest. A stressful lifestyle adds to the breakouts in the skin and a good remedy is a good rest routine. With the bailout package finally approved, several thousand employees will finally be able to relax a bit. However, getting back to work at full steam might again prove to be too stressful. People better be taught how to handle a lot of work or the healthcare businesses might just be the next to get into trouble.

Christmas Woes

Gotta take time and have the technician expand my computer memory . All these programs that simultaneously run on my pc have reduced its performance noticeably below the maximum. Back to regular programming, it is good that the US government has finally approved the bailout plan but is so bad that Lehman was unable to take a slice out of it. The future of at least 10,000 employees is still uncertain and with the holidays approaching, that doesn’t seem to fit into several families ideal scenario.

Pressures of Work

Working very hard can make people eat too much or very little. Both are not good and for those who are gaining excess weight, doctor prescribed diet pills will probably work. Personally, I prefer exercise and proper diet over medication but for those who can’t, some help from science might do the trick. Always remember, “Everything in moderation” and “Always consult a doctor”.

Recession?

Who says that the economy is down? Looking at the movement of Ferrari parts as well as brand new cars, it seems that the economy is moving as briskly as ever. Of course, it is true that every crisis presents an equal number of opportunities. Perhaps, those buying expensive vehicles are the ones who made a killing while those who whine are the ones who lost and got left behind.

Job Hunt!

The Lehman, AIG and other recent fiascos have left a lot of people demoralized and a few out of jobs. Of course, looking for companies to apply for nowadays is easier compared to a few years ago. One can find jobs in Atlanta and other places through online job sites but of course, actually landing a good fit still takes a lot of effort and in my opinion, good timing.

Recommending A Closer Look

In regard to the current conflicts in Iran and Afghanistan, I recommend new prescription eyeglasses to the politicians, radio commentators and everybody else who wants to dabble in it. The situation on the ground is vastly different from what the papers tell us simply because not every inch of the ground is covered and the emotions and tension in the area cannot be felt by those comfortably typing and talking from several thousand miles away.

Bailout?

Some giants are literally roasting in the fire pits today. There are those that went on a buying spree and amassed a lot of subprime assets and now, they are left with thousands of acres of inventory and hardly a buyer in sight. These should not be a problem in the long run but pressure from creditors and investors that are blown out of proportion by the zealous media and general public are making things a lot worse.

Halloween On Election Year

With 2008 being an election year, I wonder who among the candidates will be wearing a Halloween costume and who will be distraught enough not to require one. The look of sadness and stress brought upon by the rigors of campaigning should be enough to make the losing candidate look horrible while the prospect of victory should more than suffice for the others to buy the most expensive outfits. Let us see!

Darn Economy!

Watching the “Poseidon” on cable television reminds me of the “Titanic” and my longing for luxury vacations . It has been so long since the last time and I only have the bad economy to blame for it. With so much movement in the key prices, one cannot help but feel paranoid. The food crisis, coupled with the crude oil spikes and global political turmoil is driving the prices of commodities upwards and the strain on one’s capacity to spend is becoming really heavy. Ahh, fix that problem with Georgia and settle the problem with Iran, as well. That will surely fix the price levels.

The Consumer Advocate

Having a car registration renewed means that one will have to spend on insurance renewals. We all are so busy that a good tip that I can share for today is try getting an online auto insurance quote. For several years now, we have been faithfully paying the amount being billed to us not knowing that there are possibly others who can possibly offer better rates and render services that are more satisfactory. Sans the time to shop for quotes, doing it online is a very good idea.

Better Television = Increase in Obesity

The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was truly magnificent and as expected, the fireworks was superb. With most of the people having to contend with watching from television sets, it’s good that technology had made viewing much more enjoyable. New TV sets like the Sony Vaio performs so well that many people now spend more time in front of the television. Wait a minute! Isn’t this contributing to the increase in the number of obese people?

Making Them Look Honest

This year’s presidential elections in the good old U S of A will probably be a showcase for the top make up artists in the country. Making politicians look honest is always a challenge. And not to mention the need to cover the ugly acne and acne scars due to the hectic lifestyle of the campaigning leaders, the best beauticians will be at their best this year.

US Election Issues

Oil is probably going to be the touchy issue in this year’s presidential elections. With crude oil prices rising beyond $150/barrel, going down but always threatening to go up for the next couple of years, it is expected that tons of papers and office supplies will be bought and used for the purpose of distributing discourses on the oil issue. I will not be surprised nor disappointed with this. With the fate of the world hanging on mid east crude, it will be best for healthy discussions aimed at resolving this issue to the benefit of the world’s oil consuming population continue.

ECONOMICS OF GREED: Help Make Oil Scarce, Make More Money

The 3 M's. That's what it's called. Make More Money. Never mind that chaos will probably be the end result. Never mind that the world may end up like a scene in Mad Max the movie. AP IMPACT: Big Oil profits steered to investors HOUSTON - As giant oil companies like Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips get set to report what will probably be another round of eye-popping quarterly profits, just where is all that money going? The companies insist they're trying to find new oil that might help bring down gas prices, but the money they spend on exploration is nothing compared with what they spend on stock buybacks and dividends. It's good news for shareholders, including mutual funds and retirement plans for millions of Americans, but no help to drivers already making drastic cutbacks to offset the high cost of fuel. Troop Pullout in Iraq

The Iraq situation is breaking my heart. Troops are going to be limited and pulled out even as its own armed forces are yet to be ready. Should that happen, I see a repeat of the Iran situation where the religious fanatics have taken control. In the end, Iraq will be in a worse situation compared to the days of Saddam. At least during Saddams reign, people still had access to the Alli diet pill .

Betancourt's Vacation

Having suffered for years under the FARC prisons, Betancourt should be given a good holiday. Why not send her on a holiday in Amanpulo or Palawan? Those jungle scenes should be replaced with a good view of beaches or perhaps an urban metropolitan holiday. Why not some Vegas vacations to give here the luxury life of a queen? Who knows, she might like it! Ahh, just give her a well deserved vacation!

Betancourt's Rescue Video

I am currently trying to load a Washington Post video of the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt and a few other highly prized FARC prisoners. I do not know if the problem is in my old laptop or my internet connection. I have been trying to load it for some time but until now, I am yet to view that amazing video. Gotta try other news networks.

Home Grown Terrorists

While looking sitting at a display of weight benches , I watched a report about foreign terrorist suspects rounded up in various checkpoints and raids that turned out to be interesting personalities in the United States. One has multiple arrest warrants to include one for assault with a deadly weapon and several others proved to have lived in the United States for quite some time. It seems that the enemy is not backward after all. They know the US and are therefore far more dangerous than previously suspected.

Follow Your Doc

Was watching an interview with a popular actress who had Lasik surgery together with her dad. Everything was successful except for her athletic dad who was very eager to get back to his regular routine even before the end of his prescribed rest period. Strenuous activities made his blood vessels burst and he is now suffering from some eye damage. This is a word of caution to patients. Follow your doctors advice. They are not doctors for nothing.

Congratulations!

The release of Ingrid Betancourt from her FARC captors in Colombia is very heartwarming indeed. While her captors may indeed be guerillas fighting a legitimate struggle, the conditions by which she was subjected to is way below the standards of civilized people. Any guerilla fighting for just cause should never fall into the trap of subjecting anybody to subhuman conditions for when they win, the natural course for them is to become the monster that they replaced. For Ingrid Betrancourt, please accept our best wishes to you. If only we can send you our favorite home theater carpet that we have here, it would have been perfect.. :D

Dieting and Safety

One of the popular diet pills today is called Phentermine 37.5 mg . While I myself am an advocate of the most natural slimming methods, such as reduced food intake and exercise, I recognize the situation of some people who needs help from supplements. Nonetheless, my advice remains til now. Always consult a physician before taking anything other than food and water. Safety is always the greatest concern.

Debt Solutions

Mortgage lenders are aggressively marketing their businesses nowadays. With the subprime crisis still hitting most of the economy, the housing business is still in bad shape. However, the secondary market is still a good idea and lenders are now assertively pursuing it. For me, that is a good idea for a lot of people who are in financial distress doesn’t know that there are available resources at their disposal.

Whatever...

Ever wondered how to get the best acne treatment ? I posed that question because years after I stopped having any in my face, I suddenly got a big one. I thought that it will be gone in a few days but I was mistaken. Knowing that one cannot try to be an expert when it comes to one’s own face, I did what’s best. Go to a clinic and have it taken out. Cheap , safe and easy!

Protect Your Investments

With the Pacquiao fight coming soon, let me give this piece of advice to those who watches boxing matches on TV. The television is a good piece of investment and at the rate it is being priced nowadays, we spend a fortune on it. Therefore, we should be careful not to be cheap in the tv mount . Wisely invest in a good one to protect the more expensive television. Enjoy the bout!

Clean Air

The air is not so bad out there but just the same, Austin Air air purifiers are something that we recommend for everyone from the area. That is for the same reason that we ask people from all over to use it. Since the days of the industrial revolution, emission and pollution levels has rapidly increased that air today is literally different from that of the 70’s. Stay healthy. Protect your home.

Something New

For both the young and the not so young, Orlando vacations is a good break from the monotony that most of us are forced to live in the concrete jungles of New York, Geneva, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul and yes, Manila. Visiting the parks designed to create ocean adventures and the beach itself is something very refreshing that everyone should have the chance to enjoy. Have a good life, everyone!

What's Up with Some People?

I don’t know what got into some female politicians in the world today. Some may have progesterone overload that they just wouldn’t give up despite overwhelming odds and seemingly lost causes. Why progesterone ? Well, such chemical helps women get pregnant and perhaps, an overload of it makes them too stubborn, like a mom defending her child. There are at least a couple of lady senators in different senates and at least one incumbent leader who are like that. Perhaps, they need some downers to take them back to the ground.

Offshoring to China

With so many shower faucets being made in factories in China, it is not so difficult to find cheap but very elegant looking China made bathroom fixtures that looks much better than the popular brands. China has become the factory of the world and in a way, it has been good. Access to good products are now wider than before due to lower prices but on the hand, cheap but inferior fakes have also saturated the market. Oh well!

A Doc's Advice: Sleep on silk!

A cosmetic surgeon was asked if sleeping on the stomach also cause wrinkles. The answer is yes for the face is not really that flat on the pillow and sleeping with the head’s weight on it causes the skin to crumple or gets wrinkled. The advice is to therefore use a silk bedding in order to minimize the “crumpling” effect on the skin. Silk is smooth and it prevents the face from getting wrinkled.

Another Hero Passes on

A lady who, from childhood til the end of her days, distinguishes people only by "Good and bad", and never by their religion, color or nationality, rescued 2,500 children from certain death during the Nazi holocaust. Her name is Irena Sendler . What she did during one of the world's darkest hours defines her for what she really is. One fine sample of what a human being should be. Granted numerous awards, she wrote, "Every child saved with my help and the help of all the wonderful secret messengers, who today are no longer living, is the justification of my existence on this earth, and not a title to glory," Do we still have enough people like her amongst us? This present world, seriously in need of heroes, pose this question.

Exciting Primary

This years’ democratic nominations is the most exciting ever pour moi’. Having a woman aggressively campaign and even start as the strongest candidate was enough to make things exciting enough. Having a strong black contender made things a lot better. I was forced to follow the trend and keep my appliances in sync even learning how to install an HDMI wall plate so as not to waste precious time waiting for the technician. That’s how good it was. Well, it’s almost over now. Let’s see what the convention will bring us.

The Campaign Heats Up!

luggage packed and ready to go (for the Whitehouse). I wonder if that is what Hillary was up to last week, until Obama gained back his momentum. Obama was able to make some corrective measures like throwing out his weirdo of a pastor. Ok, I may be insane, But still, I don’t like the old man’s train of thought. Hillary on the other hand lost a super delegate who is now calling all democrats to rally behind Barrack. Hmmnn… The plot thickens!

Add This to Your List of Advices

For all the sins committed because of youthful exuberance, a pineapple face is one of the worst punishments that can ever be imposed. Sans effective good acne treatment , one will have to endure a lifetime of embarrassment unless later on remedied by an expensive surgery. As a parent can only say with utmost effectiveness, take good care of your skin. You will thank us for that later on.

Making things easier

Ahh, the wonders of technology! I found it quite stressful attaching large documents to my official emails. The attaching periods can take a long time and my work momentum gets sidetracked. It's a good thing that I was thought how to install and use a filezilla file transfer protocol. Now, I only need to compress all the days work into a batch file and send it to client offices without any delay in what I am doing.

Musings

Thinking about possible upgrades for my Mom’s home, I thought of getting her a bath lift when she no longer has her full strength. Buying it this early may be offensive for her and knowing that she’s started to get old, I believe that she can be quite sensitive. The best thing for me to do at this point is plan for her old age which is like preparing for my own afternoon. Just like you, I will get there, sooner than I think!

Smart Procurement

With the rapid advances in technology, it may actually be possible to prolong purchases of gadgets for a few months and be able to get it at a huge discount. Take for example the usb flash drive . This wonderful gadgets that are smaller than your thumb but can store the contents of all your encyclopedias at home keeps on coming with better versions every few months. Holding on to your money for a few months will make you save a lot of money. Trust me!

TIP FOR TODAY

When wanting to add gadgets in your inventory there is an online store where you can find almost anything at prices making it your best buy . I was looking for a WiFi router and was pleasantly surprised at the price that I got. In addition, I also found a powerful iPod speaker system that comes with handsome rebate. Some say that when things are too good to be true, it most probably is. My source, in my experience, doesn’t belong to that group.

ELTON JOHN RAISES

In a benefit concert where the cheapest tickets, $125 and $250, sold out quickly, Elton John performed in a fund raising concert that raised 2.5 million for Hillary Clinton. The other seats were filled by fans paying as much as $2,300, the limit for an individual's contribution to a federal candidate. -- WHOA! Perhaps, Obama can also get Michael Jackson to sell his secret skin whitening cream and donate the money to the campaign.

RIP: CHARLTON HESTON

Charlton Heston, more popularly known for his role as Ben-Hur,Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the '50s and '60s, has died at the age of 84. I don't agree with everything that he stands for and he didn't make much of impression to until I've read his speech in Harvard. I am quoting it in full for you to read, if you haven't, by this time. I like this guy. God bless you, Charlton Heston. I remember my son when he was five, explaining to his kindergarten class what his father did for a living. "My Daddy," he said, "pretends to be people." There have been quite a few of them. Prophets from the Old and New Testaments, a couple of Christian saints, generals of various nationalities and different centuries, several kings, three American presidents, a French cardinal and two geniuses, including Michelangelo. If you want the ceiling re-painted I'll do my best. There always seem to be a lot of different fellow...

Women Leaders

The image of the women leader of today is a far cry from what the world had yesterday. I still remember the Imelda Marcos of the Philippines with her expensive toilets and other bathroom vanities - drums of expensive soap, enough to last for several years. Little did she know that later on toilet papers with her face printed on it will become best sellers. I also remember seeing a tape of battery powered Mercedes benz convertible for her grade school grand kids, etc, etc.. Today, the image of women leaders that comes to mind are battle hardened platoon leaders and company commanders, generals and court justices. The difference between then and now is really really huge.

Microsoft refuses to increase bid for Yahoo

"Why would Microsoft bid against themselves? The company sees no reason to bid against itself," This summarizes the company's position as Microsoft revealed that it sees no point in increasing the $44.6 billion offer that it made to acquire Yahoo.com. Please read more in this link

Missing dad

It’s a bit different when you’re the one earning your own spending money. As a kid, it was very easy for me to big my dad for luxury vacations but now, I am about his age when I started bugging and it’s a bit difficult to let go of hard earned money. Of course, life is a lot difficult now compared to before. But still… I guess, I am different from him. I am an economist. I know the value of money. He’s not! – Kiddin… :-D

Hillary, You lied... Hahahaha!

I have repeatedly observed that politicians, when confronted by overwhelming opposition, tries to create foreign enemies that their people can unite against, with them leading the fight. Thaksin (sounds like taksil –traitor) and Abe did it. Hillary Clinton is now on her second attempt. Very unsure at the possible ending of her battle against Obama, she first tried to get more brownie points by talking against outsourcing. As we all know, the lazy and the mediocre (there's a lot of them) are blaming the outsourcing policy of a lot of companies for their being unemployed. Very recently, she portrayed herself as an action hero dodging sniper fire in Bosnia . A video file of the event showed that there was absolutely no such thing that ever occurred. I doubt if there was ever one in her entire term as a first lady. Dodging grass as a 70’s hippe, maybe.. but never was she centered in the crosshairs of a rifle. Give credit to snipers. They trained long and hard to earn their statuses ...

Excesses of the rich

I remember a plumber telling me about the gold bathroom faucets that they installed in one Middle Eastern palace. Guards were watching them the entire time, making sure that they will not take any of the bathroom faucets . Well, I have heard before that excesses can be fatal. I’m not sure if it has been proven to be true at this point. Stories about the rich burning money still abound and there are no signs of it coming to an end.

Clean Air

The increasing level of emission in our roads today makes it more and more difficult for people to live a healthy life. It won’t be long before air purifiers become required gadgets before building permits can be issued to any establishment. Of course, there’s hope. All these hybrid vehicles that are being invented somehow offer an alternative to the future of our environment. Let’s hope that it becomes a commercial reality before things become too late.

OPTIMIZING POSSIBLE BENEFITS

Ashley Dupree may also opt to put up her own website with Adsense, direct ads and instead of publishing her song via syndication, she can opt to directly sell it on her site. That way, she can get all of the$0.99 per download. Those who download the song through directbuy will only need to click on her paypal button to be able to do that. If Dupree doesn’t know how to do it, I can run the site for her.

Poor Ashley Dupree

The trend has become too common. Madam's and hookers causes breakups and career downfalls, tells all, makes a lot of money and lives happily ever after. Well, this lady is not that lucky, at least for now. Ashley Dupree (pls read my past posts) was recently offered a million dollars by both "Girls Gone Wild" and "Penthouse" for her nude poses and probably, a tell all. However, The former withdrew its offer after finding a young Dupree in its archives. Girls Gone Wild now intends to make money without the $1 million in talent fees. It hasn't been reported if Penthouse will do the same. The Chinese likes to say that where there is diversity, there is opportunity. It’s probably wise for this young lady to capitalize on her popularity but doing things cleanly. The process should start with seriously considering alcohol and/or drug rehab . Her Girls Gone Wild videos make suspect the need for some cleansing. Other than that, she can reopen that MySpace account a...

My Home Gym

Last weekend, we settled for the new type of exercise equipment for our house – a bike. It has the standard speed meter, timer and other normal features. But what I like most about this one is the body mass index, pulse and heart rate monitors that enabled me to save on a similar gadget that actually costs more than the stationary bike itself. Now, that’s a good buy.

Will you pay $4,000 to be in bed with her?

Spitzer did! The governor who went after people with outrageous salaries actually paid in excess of $4,000 just to be in bed with her. That's probably much more than the daily wages of most of the people that Spitzer ran after. RELATED ARTICLES: SLEAZY SPITZER THE BEAUTY THAT TOOK DOWN SPITZER (Video) MR CLEAN RESIGNS WILL YOU PAY $4K TO BE IN BED WITH HER? (Photos)

IT'S ALL OVER AS MR CLEAN DECIDES TO COME CLEAN

After locking himself up and conferring with his high profile lawyers and some close confidants, Governor Eliot Spitzer decided that the best course of action is to resign. As it (resignation) was being announced, those threatened by his tough actions to clean up Wall Street responded with happiness. There were reports that some of them even popped champagne to celebrate the end of his term. SCANDAL SWALLOWS SLEAZY SPITZER!

People say that "success and power has its own sex appeal" and yet, this man still had to pay a lot for it. The very powerful and promising governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, a 48-year-old married man with three teenage daughters, built his political fortress upon the platform of good governance and reform. He went after what he perceived were shady practices and overly generous compensation while paying top dollar to a prostitution service. On Valentines eve, he spent thousands of dollars on a call girl named Kristen at a Washington hotel. Reports didn't mention if he ever spent close to that much for his wife or daughters, the day after. In addition, Spitzer is also reported to have had past transactions with Kristen and already had accumulated enough "Frequent flier points" and " Preferred customer status" that he was given a permanent customer ID "Client 9". After being exposed by government tax investigators, he made an apology and ...

Swithing to HD Tech?

I also noticed that my supplier is now stacking on a lot of HDMI splitters . Oh my, does that mean that I am so outdated? I’m still stuck to my old DVD players and 2 year old flat screen TV. I will be needing to spend a lot just to be able to upgrade to the new HD technology. Next year, perhaps... Am I missing a lot in terms of quality entertainment?, maybe not. What I don’t know won’t hurt me.

The new Asus EEE

There’s so much hype about the new portable Asus 9” laptop that I passed by my computer shop last weekend. Well, it’s handy alright but I will probably recommend it as a piece to be taken for travels. It’s small enough to fit into a small bag and that way, you can have it attached to your body all the time. Laptop theft will probably be reduced once travelers start using this piece.

Vacation Ideas

My dad asked for vacation ideas and I queried for his preferences. I have my own ideas but the senior citizens may have something totally different from mine. Well, he said that he wanted some golf in the morning and a nice leisurely lunch. I proposed that he uses Branson rentals facility and be on his way. The place has everything.. Golf, fishing, nice houses, good food and fresh air. It’s all there.

To each his own

There are people who have the knack for excelling online. They have fun playing with or without their friends and even rack up a lot of money from it. Well, gaming is not for everybody and most certainly, it is not for those who don’t have self control. But for those who do, I see nothing wrong with betting a bit of money as a way of having fun. Look at it this way, some people spend a thousand dollars over a bottle of rare wine (that they will finish in an hour) while there are those who throw $1~$200 within two hours by playing online. For those who derive thrill and enjoyment that way, online casino reviews are good them. It allows them to know what some people think about multiple sites thereby enabling them to choose the best playing fields for them. Some say gambling is bad. I say it always depends. It depends on how much he/she gambles in relation to how much disposable money they have.

85 YEARS OF TIME MAGAZINE

Founded by Briton Hadden and Henry R. Luce, this magazine published its first issue on March 23 1923. This publication is one of those that provided its readers more value than the money they paid for. Congratulations!

Home Economics 101

With my home space feeling a bit cramped at times, I am thinking of buying a tv wall mount that will free up decent space in my living room. The contraption doesn’t cost much and I am able to increase the precious real estate spaces in my abode. Rearranging the furnitures should be fun and at least, my place will have a new look. Well, that’s economics. Efficiently utilizing scarce resources to satisfy my wants. Amen!

Politicians...

The only way that the political parties are ever going to make me attend these conventions is for them to hold it in Las Vegas. They can make me listen to an hour or two of speeches and after which, I will be taking naps in one of the famous Vegas rooms . With so many politicians forcing fake smiles to win our vote, they got to make it bearable for us to vote for them. Just being sarcastic. It’s election year, you know!

HOW TO PAY TAXES

There are only a couple of permanent things in this world- Death and Taxes! Everything else changes. Here's a collection of articles to help the tax payer avoid getting into trouble with the tax bureau. Good luck!

Top 2008 Fuel Economy Faves

Being a supporter of environmental causes, this site features related developments. Fuel efficient automobiles have been mentioned a few times in the past and should more come out in the future, we shall also be praising them here. Despite this site's strong belief that the global auto industry's effort in helping reduce emissions and the world's dependence on fossil fuel, we are nonetheless commending them for at least coming out with environmentally friendlier cars. The US economy today

The US economy is said to be hardly moving. In fact,Jeanine Aversa, an economics writer for the Associated Press describes at as having skidded to near halt. Here are a few other points of view.

NOT HILLARY

In my past posts, I have taken shots at President Thaksin Shinawatra (Thailand) and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (Japan) for trying to jump start their sagging popularity ratings by creating foreign enemies. In my books , people like them do not deserve praise and should be discarded in the dustbins of history. Now, the great Hillary, in her quest to live up to the name popularized by the great Sir Edmund, is hitting on outsourcing, thereby joining the paranoids of her country. She tried to stay away from this group but with her diminishing chances to nag the democrats nomination, she finally joined the fray, hoping to bag some brownie points. She doesn’t get my vote.

Happy Weekend

I receive a lot of thank you notes from various people. All those letters are well appreciated, most especially when it arrives early morning and lands on top of my inbox. But for the more serious thanks, they can buy me a beer through the PayPal donations site that I intend to install or, they can send me a Chemise Lacoste! :-) Kidding!

JAZZ UP YOUR SITES

A blog becomes doubly attractive when it comes with beautiful photos. For some people, using photos being given away for free by some free photo sites work but the more serious bloggers and commercial websites buy photo rights. Purchased photos need not be expensive. Shutterfly coupons may be sourced online and the end result are professionally taken and enhanced photos that can make a big difference.

THE STAR WARS AGE OFFICIALLY STARTS

The weapon The missile strike that brought down a crippled satellite confirms what the Russians have feared. The Americans have an operational Star Wars system. The strike probably sent Russian President Putin the same message that Reagan gave Gorbachev- We can do it! I just remembered... When the US released what was supposed to be the largest non nuclear bomb in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Russians released a bigger version a few years later. Let's see how the Russians will respond to this one. There's one thing that we are sure of. this is the start of a new age in warfare. Now that the Americans have admitted such capabilities, expect them to keep on using it. Here is a diagram of how it was done as well as a Syndicated news regarding the event. The attack diagram Some considerations

THEY LIKE EM' YOUNG

A few years ago, I read an article that talks about animals wanting to mate with younger counterparts. In the world of Human Sapiens, order had to be installed for everybody's protection so rules were made such as the protection of minors and subordinates against predatory authority figures such as older people, teachers, employers, etc. During the past few years, we saw an upsurge in teachers all over the world being indicted for having sex with their students. The latest is South Carolina middle school teacher Allena Ward who had sex with 5 teenage boys. Watch the video.

STAR WARS

Reminiscent of a Reagan era Star Wars initiative, the Bush intends to shoot down a malfunctioning spy satellite as it re-enters the earth's atmosphere. And it won't be long before they do it, the satellite is expected to hit the planet a couple of weeks from now... Read more

AMERICANS' CONFIDENCE IN THE DOLLAR STARTS TO DECLINE

With lots of foreign currencies continuously gaining in value against the dollar. Stores owners in New York have started to speculate against the US currency by accepting Euros, Canadian dollars, UK pounds and a few other denominations. At the rate the dollar is being devalued, I would say that the move is very wise. Store owners make more money by setting their own exchange rates and by selling their hordes foreign currency when its value has substantially grown, they make more money. And with the Philippine peso gaining 20% against the US dollar within a year, I will not be surprised if stores where there are Asians will start putting up "Philippine Pesos Accepted here signs"

My lovable belly

It’s been a month and a half since the Christmas holidays and my appetite for good food has not waned. On the contrary, it probably has increased. The unusually heavy challenges that came into my work table seemed to have challenged me to stop thinking of weight loss and fantasize about weight gain. OK, that was an overstatement. But the fact remains, I am starting to look like my dad!

In addition

One of the things that people should have is individual health insurance policies from reputable companies. There is no telling what can happen to us as after we wake up in the morning and unless we have no parents, siblings or close relative that we want to benefit, we all should have one. And that is my unsolicited practical advice for the day. Cheers!

Risky Jobs

Just a couple of weeks ago, I wrote about mesothelioma being a form of cancer that is one of the dangers associated with people exposed to asbestos. It is quite dangerous since it only starts to manifest itself to people 20~50 years after exposure. Since the widespread use of asbestos fell in the early eighties, people with this type of cancer can be expected to grow in numbers until 2020. I don’t know what the medical industry is doing but with a decline in the expected number of affected people approximately 12 years from now, I suspect that the efforts to find a cure may not be as much as the trouble they are get themselves into for other types of medicines.

UPDATE: TAIWAN's PRESIDENT FALLS INTO A DEADLY PATTERN

This reminds me of Japan's Abe and Thailand's Thaksin. Whenever their domestic performances go down, they try to look for foreign enemie that their country can unite against. In Japan, as Abe's popularity dipped, he went nationalistic with his controversial war denial and historical revisionist stance (lots of related posts in this blog). In Thailand, when Thaksin was being hit by billion dollar corruption charges, he tried to rally his people against the Philippines by fueling allegations of cheating in the South East Asian games. And just recently, Taiwanese president Chen Shui-bian went to the the conflict area Spratly Islands to assert his country's claims against several others like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei. This was said to have been done after his Democratic Progressive Party suffered a humiliating loss in the legislative elections three weeks ago. The pattern seems to be so evident. So what's next? Chen's downfall? ...

Various World Updates

Whatever happens to the US economy will most likely have a corresponding effect to the rest of the world. This is largely due to the size of its economy that has partnerships even with its enemies, like Venezuela for instance, which supplies lots of oil to the US. Should the US economy go down, it's suppliers and clients can also expect a corresponding effect on the behavior of its exports and import performance. It is therefore an interest to most people, who the next US President will be. For now, Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama seems to be even on the Democrat's side. Senator John McCain of Arizona, f ormer Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee seems to be in a tight race on the Republican's side . On other parts of the world, leaders seem to be quick in condemning the violence in Darfur but a bit slow when it comes to actually doing something about it. At this point, there are only 9,000 poorly trained UN soldiers on the gro...

MORE ON THE CAFE' WARS

I have previously written about profit (as a motivation to become efficient and its benefits to the consumers) and competition & price equilibrium in relation to the coffee shops industry . Taking competition a bit further, Starbucks is offering $1 coffee (still expensive, if you'll ask me) and free refills. This is in addition to earlier moves to install drive-thru counters and national advertisements. This will probably be a long protracted "Cafe Wars" in an industry worth billions of dollars. I surmise that such move by Starbucks was in response to McDonald's move to compete in the industry. MacDonalds already serve cheaper coffee (with refills) and gives free WiFi services, something that Satrbucks is yet to do. I heard that WiFi in Starbucks outlets in the UK costs an arm and a leg. With probably more outlets worlwide (Starbucks has 15,000), McDonalds should never be taken lightly as a competitor. My biggest pick as a future industry loser remains to be Nes...

GOVERNMENT HOPEs TO JUMPSTART THE US ECONOMY

When our automobile fails to start, we try to jump start it, by plugging the weak battery to a good one, with the use of jumper cables. The same is quite true for the US economy. The battery that provides power to it is perceived to be weak so the government is thinking of measures to jump start it to make the engine run. For starts, President Bush wants to give tax rebates to low income households so they can use it to alleviate their lives. In so doing, the recipients of the rebates will use the money to pay for commodities and that will make the manufacturers, suppliers and the rest of the economy active. because of a multiplier effect, the rest of the economy is expected to positively react. The video provided will give us a better picture of the bigger plans.

Trying to be helpful

I have a relative who makes it a point to bring his old cars to charities that accept his car donation . Those organizations mean well and should be supported wholeheartedly by everyone. In addition to being of help to a lot people, donations to certain charities are rewarded with tax deductions. Everybody hates paying excessive taxes and I agree that they shouldn’t. However, the best thing that can be done at this point is to maximize legal deductions and use the savings properly.

Greening the earth the way it was before

In a competitive market, Economics have a way of teaching man to live properly. With the realization that clean air has started to become a scare commodity, the market became increasingly filled with green products . What used to be regarded as nothing more than some weird people’s paranoia or publicity stunt have become necessary purchases. Among the companies leading the call is greenandmore.com, a firm specializing in eco friendly products. In addition, it has a green learning center with Class A information from sources like the EPA, the US Dept. of Energy and valuable materials taken by its own research facilities. Other than that, they also live by example by making sure that their offices are 100% environmentally compliant. This means that they do not use plastic materials, recycle efficiently and support environmental charities, among other things. However, what worries me is the fact that a perfectly competitive market where information freely flows is far from being attained....
