400th Execution in Texas

"...I bear witness there is no God but Allah and Prophet Mohammad. Unto Allah I belong unto Allah I return."

Those are the last words of the death row inmate who became the 21st person to be executed by the state of Texas this year. He also happens to be the 400th convict to die in the said state. The compete story can be found at CNN.com.

For the meantime, the debates continue...

The Muslim prayer has been wrongly translated.
It should actually say "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and Prophet Mohammad is the messenger of Allah".
Please make the necessary correction.

lol...rafi is telling the site to alter what the convicted man said just because he believes it is said differently??

like your so called religion, your a joke rafi...the man said what he said and it should be left that way....if he wanted to say it the way you did, he would have.

i think this shows how easy it is to misinterpret fanatic rhetoric such as that spouted by the koran.

good riddens to him...he got what he gave...DEATH! and that is 100% the way it should be.
(it shouldn't have taken 8 years and countless taxpayer dollars..but thats the broken system we have...hopefully one day it will be changed to put them to death as soon as they are found guilty)

if ever comes the time, i will vote for the 'eye for an eye' law.

kill someone and you will be killed. harm someone and you will be harmed to the same extent.

the death penaly is a very good deterent. for example, if i decided i was going to be a dumb fool and commit such a hienous crime, i'd be sure it wasn't in texas. i would go to one of those faggot liberal states that doesn't believe a person that kills somebody should be killed his/herself.

again...good riddens...one less piece of oxygen thief scum out of our society....now if we can only do the same for these fanatics that kill in the name of religion.
(the biggest joke the world has ever played on humanity)

Come on Rafi.

Can't you idiots quit attempting to push your beliefs on others?

If not, then I would have to insist that you KNOW that religions are for the weak minded.

What's that you say? You don't want me to push my beliefs on you? Oh, by the looks of your post, I thought you believed it is OK to push our beliefs onto others.

QUIT TRYING TO PUSH YOUR BELIEFS ONTO OTHERS! IF YOU WANT TO BE AN IDIOT, HAVE THE BALLS TO DO IT ALONE...DON'T PRESSURE OTHERS TO BE AN IDIOT WITH YOU!
Hi Rafi and Maddawg,

Those are the actual words uttered by the death convict and I was only quoting him. I certainly cannot revise something that I did not say. Anyway, please continue your debate. I will present your points in a later post.

US PRESIDENTIAL CONVOYS

A columnist for a Philippine newspaper talks about the costs and massive preparations required by the US Secret Service whenever President Bush and other (US Presidents) travel outside of Washington DC. I remember watching a CNN report that showed how big a US presidential convoy is, compared to the two vehicle transport being used by Prime Minister Tony Blair of the UK.

DOHA Round Updates & Preferential Tariffs in Practice

T he DOHA round of the World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations intends to promote the opening of markets and promoting free trade. This April, the latest meeting failed to reach a conclusion. Director-General Pascal Lamy of the World Trade Organization delivered a speech before the US Chamber of Commerce on April 23, 2007. Here are excerpts from his speech. "T oday we know that the Doha Development Round will not be concluded until and unless all these participants are ready to walk the extra mile and table additional contributions to the collective success of this multilateral enterprise. It is clear that the contributions will be linked to the degree of development and wealth of each participant, with the world poorest countries making the smallest contribution. It is also clear that no one will be asked to move first: countries will have to move in concert, like a big orchestra playing to the same tune. For the moment, a group of major actors — the EU, US, Brazil, India — d...
